Passeri Tartufi, in collaboration with Giuliano Tartufi, have recently been selected as winners of the tender for the truffle supply chain, becoming the first companies in Italy and in the world to receive such recognition. Together with 71 Umbrian agricultural companies, they participated in the tender for a total of 122 hectares of land. About 400 seedlings will be planted per hectare, for a total of over 50,000. This project aims to increase the production of the valuable tuber, both in terms of quantity and quality, making the entire process traceable in order to give the product an additional added value.
The collaboration between the two companies has led to an ambitious project that involves the use of innovative techniques to improve the quality of truffles and the efficiency of their production. Thanks to their experience and knowledge, the project was designed with the aim of improving the entire supply chain, from harvesting to commercialization, using mapping techniques that allow for the identification of the exact origin of the truffle (100% Umbria) and its quality. This will ensure maximum food safety for the consumer and greater transparency in the production chain.
The details of the initiative were presented during a conference attended by Ivano Passeri, owner of Passeri Tartufi srl, Giuliano Martinelli, owner of Giuliano Tartufi spa, Roberto Morroni, Vice President and councilor for agricultural policies of the Umbria region, Paolo Guelfi, manager of the Umbria region's agriculture department, Mirko Ceci, Mayor of Pietralunga, and Matteo Giambartolomei, CEO of Umbriaflor, the company that will supply the necessary seedlings for truffle cultivation.
The ultimate goal is to create a network of truffle producers capable of producing high-quality truffles in a sustainable way, using environmentally friendly and traditional techniques. This way, the cultural and gastronomic heritage associated with truffles can be preserved and enhanced, helping to promote and appreciate this valuable tuber around the world.
Passeri Tartufi and Giuliano Tartufi are committed to working with local producers, authorities, and industry experts to ensure the success of the project and the creation of an Umbrian truffle industry. The passion, experience, and determination of both partners guarantee the success of this ambitious project, which will contribute to the promotion of the territory and the tradition of truffles worldwide.
